I’ve heard it and read it many times. And I quote “Brushy Bill doesn’t look anything like Billy The Kid. John Miller looks more like him.” Or, this photo or that photo looks like Billy but Brushy doesn’t. So on this page I present photos of John Miller and others who’ve been said to “look like” Billy. I’ve pasted the same exact tracing of Billy’s face onto each one. The same tracing that matched Brushy’s face so well in the previous comparison. If first impressions of who favors who are correct, these faces should match the tracing better than Brushy’s does. So let us discover!
John Miller - The other noted Billy The Kid claimant. Some think he looks more like Billy than Brushy does but his face is much too wide, and the chin to lower lip is too short. Not shown here, there are also major differences in overall stature.

Brushy Bill at age 14! Why do his photos match the tintype better than any of the others do? The answer is rather obvious!
